Baily Thomas Charitable Fund

The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund is a registered charity which provides funding to voluntary organisations working in the field of learning disability. Grants are available for research into learning disability and for projects that aid the care and relief of those affected by learning disability.

  • It considers learning disability to cover the conditions generally referred to as severe learning difficulties, together with autism. Funding is available for projects concerning children or adults.
  • The Charity operates three grant schemes:
  • General Grants - Grants range from £250 upwards, with no upper limit.
  • Small Grants - The Charity also provides small grants of up to £5,000. These are assessed outside of normal grants meetings.
  • Research Grants - A limited fund is available for research projects. Grants range from £250 upwards, with no upper limit.

Bath Building Society Charity Awards

The Bath Building Society Charity Awards programme allocates a range of donations to small charities and community organisations in the Bath Building Society's operating area (Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Bristol).

English Lacrosse Minor Grants

English Lacrosse provides and administers a small grants programme to support the priorities of its 2009-2013 Whole Sport Plan.

  • Successful applications will support increases in one or more of the following:
  • Adult participation (Aged 14-25 and 26+).
  • The amount of new clubs or club sections.
  • The amount of trained coaches, officials and volunteers.
  • The amount of junior participation (under 14).

Go! Kids Go!

The Go! Kids Go! Project was set up jointly by Weston-super-Mare Lions Club and the Weston Mercury.

  • Its mission is to provide financial support to those organisations and individuals that promote activeness in the young.
  • Your organisation and project must be based within postcodes BS22, BS23, BS24 and BS25 and you will need to be a registered club, charity or other not-for-profit organisation set up to encourage sport and other physical activity.

Mars Milk Fund

The Mars Milk Fund is available, regardless of whether you’re an artist or an athlete, bowler or bird watcher, dramatist or diver. Four awards will be given away every week until the closing date.  To be in with a chance of winning you will need to say in less than 200 words how £300 would help you.

Sport England - Community Sport Activation Fund

The Community Sport Activation Fund is a £40 million Lottery revenue fund developed to support grassroots activity at a very local level. The Fund was designed in response to demand and will aim to unlock potential and resources.

  • Sport England will not prescribe how projects will deliver but will invest in what works best in different areas, based on local evidence.
  • The Community Sport Activation Fund aims to do the following:
  • Increase once a week participation in sport by those aged 14 and above.
  • Encourage and support local partners to work together to develop new approaches to delivery.
  • Invest in projects that will deliver sustainable participation increases.
  • Support communities across England to help ensure sport becomes a regular part of the majority of people’s lives.

The Dickie Bird Foundation for Disadvantaged Young People

Support for individuals throughout Great Britain with the aim of helping disadvantaged young people (under the age of 18) to participate in sport, to the best of their ability, in the sport of their choice, irrespective of their social circumstances, culture or ethnicity.
