The BBC Children in Need Main Grants programme is open to charities and not-for-profit organisations applying for grants over £10,000 per year for up to three years.

Grant Available: From £10,000

The grants are for organisations working to combat children and young people of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through:
·         illness, distress, abuse or neglect,
·         Any kind of disability,
·         Behavioural or psychological difficulties
·         Living in poverty or situations of deprivation

The Canoe Foundation offers funding for projects in the UK that support or promote paddle sport activities with a specific focus on young people and/or people with disabilities.

Grant Available: Up to £1,000 (£2,000 in exceptional circumstances)

Through the Canoe Foundation’s Small Grants Panel, applicants are able to apply for grants with a specific focus on Young People and/or Disability (Equality).

The Sport and Recreation Alliance Sports Club of the Year Awards have been running for 20 years and have now been renamed the Community Sport and Recreation Awards to embrace the wealth of recreational organisations and bodies that perform excellent work in their local communities.  Applications are welcome from all types of sport and recreation organisations in order to reflect the diversity of membership, and from organisations that are open to all ages and abilities.

Awards Available: Five £1,000 awards and one £2,000 award

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is encouraging its members, the national governing and representative bodies of sport and recreation, and the County Sports Partnerships, to each endorse and nominate up to three of their clubs or member organisations for the following awards:

  • Volunteer Management
  • School Links
  • Professional Club Community Programme of the Year Award

The Gane Charitable Trust offers grants to support projects furthering crafts, design, the arts and social welfare for individuals in the UK, and particularly the South West.

The Iran Heritage Foundation Grant is intended to support organisations undertaking projects to raise the public's awareness of Iranian history and culture.

Grant Available: £500 to £4,000

The prime focus of projects seeking support should be the Iranian world. The Foundation will consider making grants to projects that promote the following:
  • Teaching of the Persian language outside of Iran and other aspects of Persian culture to pre-university age groups.
  • Study of Iranian history, art, architecture, archaeology and cultures, including research and publication, conferences and seminars, lectures and lecture series.
  • Awareness of the public at large about Iranian history and culture, including film festivals and exhibitions.

The Kickstart Grants are available to community football clubs in the UK to help support, grow or develop their players and the community.

Grants are available to support rowing in Britain with preference shown to encouraging participation in rowing by the young or disabled through the provision of equipment.

Grant Available: £500 to £2,000

Funding is available to schools, organisations and clubs in Britain that are involved in the water elements of the sport of Rowing and who are individually affiliated to British Rowing (other than via their governing body).
