Theatre Orchard - Loan Shark Film

Forever in your debt is a short film by Bournville Community Theatre Company, developed in partnership with The Theatre Orchard and Homespun Films. It have been funded by the Big Lottery Fund Awards For All, Quartet Community Foundation, the Illegal Money Lending Team, Knightstone Housing, Alliance Homes and Weston Town Council, with in-kind support from the Credit union.

Interest rates of 2000%?  Spiralling debt?  Struggling to pay for a school uniform?

The bare facts supply the drama in this hard-hitting but humorous exploration of the resonant themes of debt and money lending  - both legal and illegal. The illuminating script has been developed by director Vincenzo Pellegrino in conjunction with local residents, drawing upon their own experiences and stories as part of the development process.  Expect tears, laughter, a shark … and cocktails on the beach.

The Theatre Orchard were pleased to link with Knighstone Housing’s media trainee programme, employing Mark Beckett  (a Knightstone resident) as sound engineer and assistant camera-operator.
The finished film is now available to local residents, housing associations and Trading Standards.  A great example of local people making their voices heard on subjects that matters.

"This film is a must-see for communities and those supporting communities.  This is story-telling with impact."  Julian Moss, Chief  Superintendent Avon & Somerset Constabulary.
