Andy Fanshawe Memorial Trust
The AFMT funds projects that give disadvantaged young people the chance to develop an existing interest in the great outdoors.
- They prefer that applicants have done some fund-raising and usually support organisations, but if an individual wants to apply, they need a referee.
- The AFMT doesn’t fund taster sessions or one-off residential trips and are unlikely to support environmental organisations, unless there is a strong outdoor element to the application. They are unlikely to support foreign trips and don’t support capital projects.
- The AFMT does not have an application form. Each application should answer the following questions. Applications should be made via e-mail if possible, but written applications are acceptable.
- Who is applying?
- What do you propose to do? And where?
- Who will benefit? Why do they deserve our support?
- What is the overall budget?
- How much are you applying for?
- What are your plans for continuing this type of activity? What have you done before?

Arts Council - Strategic Touring Programme
The focus of the programme is for people across England
Arts Council England aims to encourage:
- All of those involved in touring to play an active role in ensuring that high quality art successfully reaches more people and places across
- A positive change in collaborative behaviour between all of those involved in creating and programming work which tours.
- More effective touring, programming and audience development of high quality work on tour including, in particular, work by and for children and young people, and work by and for people from diverse backgrounds.
- Promoters, and the communities they serve, given opportunities to influence the kinds of art created to tour, from the beginning of the artistic process.
- More promoters improving their knowledge and skills in creative commissioning, programming and audience development.
- Those creating and managing work on tour demonstrating how they have placed the people and venues they tour to at the centre of their work.
- More people involved in creating and managing work on tour improving their knowledge and skills in touring and audience development

Big Lottery – Building on the Games
Big Lottery Fund is investing £5.3m in four inspirational UK-wide initiatives that will inspire and engage over two million people and ensure the 2012 spirit continues to thrive in communities through to 2014 and beyond.
- The funding is being released ahead of the Big Lottery Fund’s £40 million ‘Spirit of 2012’ Trust, set up late last year, being formally established.

B&Q Waste Donation
B&Q operates a waste donation scheme through all stores. This scheme allows donation of waste materials, for example slightly damaged tins of paint, off-cuts of timber, odd rolls of wallpaper and end of range materials, to community groups, charities and schools.
- The waste donation scheme is co-ordinated in store either by the environmental champion, duty or Warehouse manager who will keep a Waste Donation Form on file for interested groups.
- Before any materials are donated, the form must be signed by a representative of the group.
- Please note that it is company policy that health and safety is taken into consideration, therefore electrical, petrol and gas items are not available for donation. Any waste or surplus stock donated must not be re-sold.

BBC Children in Need - Small Grants
The BBC Children in Need Small Grants programme is open to charities and not-for-profit organisations applying for grants up to and including £10,000 for a year.
The grants are for organisations working to combat children and young people of 18 years and under experiencing disadvantage through:
- illness, distress, abuse or neglect,
- Any kind of disability,
- Behavioural or psychological difficulties
- Living in poverty or situations of deprivation

Bridges Social Impact Bond Fund
Investments of up to £3 million are available to provide charities and social enterprises with a sustainable source of capital and support, allowing them to focus on delivering crucial social outcomes-based programmes that will benefit society as a whole.
- Programmes should be designed to improve social outcomes in areas such as education, employment, housing and care for vulnerable young people.
- The investments can facilitate the funding of early-stage, preventive interventions which are more effective and cost-efficient than treating social issues after they have arisen.
- Organisations must have:
- A clear social mission
- A strong management team
- The ability to deliver highly impactful social interventions
- The ability to robustly monitor and proactively manage the social outcomes delivered by these programmes

British and Foreign School Society
The British and Foreign Schools Society (BFSS) offers charitable aid to educational projects in the UK
· Inspired by the educational reforms of Quaker Joseph Lancaster, the Society supports organisations that reach out to children in remote or impoverished areas, improving inclusively in education and providing much-needed facilities.
· Although a few grants are made to individuals, the majority are made to schools, other charities and educational bodies.
- All applications for grants from the main or subsidiary funds should be made in writing to the Director and not to the Archive Centre.
- The Council of the Society have approved the following criteria for grants from the general fund. It will normally take about 3 months for an application for a grant to be processed and may take longer if more information has to be sought.

Energy Globe Award Competition
The aim of the awards is to promote innovative and sustainable environmental projects to the wider international community and encourage their replication in other countries.
Awards are made in the following five categories:
• Earth - for conservational and sustainable projects, including topics such as building materials, buildings, energy plants and traffic routes.
• Fire - for energy production projects, the use of renewable fuels, energy distribution and transport, energy utilisation and energy optimisation.
• Water - for projects around the conservational use of water resources such as drinking water supply, domestic water, irrigation, protection of waterways, shipping and avoidance and treatment of waste water.
• Air - for projects which contribute to improving air quality, including the avoidance of CO2 emissions, optimisation of combustion processes, reduction of greenhouse gases or emissions, indoor air quality and so on.
• Youth - for any measures that promote sustainable thinking and action on the part of young people and any actions that young people implement to benefit the environment.

LawWorks is an independent charity and is the working name of the Solicitor's Pro Bono Group. Sport England
Between 2012 and 2017, the Improvement Fund will invest £45m of National Lottery funding into medium-sized projects that will improve the quality and experience of sport. This is being distributed via five funding rounds of £9m per annum.
- Not-for-profit organisations, including public sector statutory organisations, can apply to fund medium sized improvement projects designed to increase the number of people who regularly play sport in
- Sport England’s strategy for 2012-17 is focused on people aged 14+ playing regular sport, and on developing opportunities for those that want to progress in their chosen sport. An additional focus is on further developing opportunities for disabled people to play more sport.
- The priority for Round Two is projects that can clearly demonstrate a significant reduction in the running costs of facilities, and minimise their impact on the environment by adopting sustainable measures and/or new technologies.
