Friday 7 September 2012

Thanks goodness it's Friday!

So we are at another weekend and the weather appears to be looking up! Maybe an Indian summer is on the cards?

Local Commissioning Networks

The Local Commissioning Networks are all busy planning their Positive Activity strategy and scoping their Innovation Fund plan. Tenders and expression of interests have already been sent out from:
  • Mid Rural Network
  • South Rural Network
  • In The Grove (Weston Central area)
We have a useful guide booklet that is available to all called "Commissioning and Procurement Support Document" it explains the commissioning process and tips for safe tendering. It can be obtained from anyone from the team.

Being part of the Positive Activity Provider network can really benefit you and your organisation. If you missed these tender emails or wish to be part of the Provider network, please get in touch with me heather.brumby@n-somerset.gov.uk.

In The Grove

In The Grove are paving the way in new communications by using Podio. Podio is an online platform for collaboration and project management and I couldn't recommend it more for networks who are short on time but still wish to communicate with each other. It is really worth a look and considering for your network, if you have 5 minutes over the weekend.

Strategic Commissioning Team

We would like to welcome Rhiannon Jones to the team. Rhiannon has joined us from the Schools Admissions Team and will be here to supply project support to the Positive Activity project as well as other projects within the team.

Gail and I will be bringing Rhiannon out to all the network meetings over the coming months so you can all get to meet her. Rhiannon will be taking a lead on finding funding opportunities for networks and the Duke of Edinburgh awards for North Somerset.

Finally, if you have any content you wish to be written about on the blog, let me know.

Have a lovely weekend all.

  1. Looking forward to meeting Rhiannon! Had a conversation only yesterday with two In the Grove members about how nobody really has the capacity to find funding opportunities... Can you read my mind?!
