Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS) is seeking to recruit a Volunteer Co-ordinator to lead its volunteer programme for the North Somerset Children’s Centres. If you have skills and experience on recruiting, selecting, placing and co-ordinating volunteers, understand the importance of implementing best practice models of volunteering, and enjoy working in an Early Years’ setting, then consider applying to join the VANS team.
Scope of the role:
- To lead on providing a range of volunteering opportunities within the 14 Children’s Centres across North Somerset including:
- Work with Children’s Centres to assess volunteer vacancies
- Recruit and place volunteers in appropriate roles
- Assist in the induction of new volunteers
- Assist Children’s Centre leaders to understand and implement Best Practice Volunteering systems for the retention of volunteers.
- Support volunteers and their relationship with those they come into initial contact with
- Measure outcomes related to volunteers

Hours : 18.5 per week
Salary: SCP28 £23,708 fte £11,854 pro-rata for 18.5 hours
Responsible to: Volunteer Centre Manager
Based: Locations across North Somerset
Contract duration: Until 31st March 2014 with likelihood of a further year subject to re-commissioning
