The South West Activity Network (SWAN), has now taken over from 5 to 25 as the Local Commissioning Network for the South Ward area of Weston-super-Mare.
The Network has established a successful track record over the past five years of delivering and co-ordinating holiday activities throughout the year.
The Network partners include:
- Barnardos
- XTND (Bournville and Windwhistle School)
- Alliance Homes
- North Somerset Council’s Behaviour Improvement Programme
- South Weston Children’s Centr
- Grow Your Own
- Wanted not wasted
- Ourwayyoursay
This summer the Network established a series of play days which saw free activities on offer in the local parks and green spaces for all ages from 0 to 19. South Weston Children’s Centre provided activities for 0-4 year olds, Barnados Play Rangers and Inspire brought activities and equipment to help children and young people explore outdoor environments, Grow Your Own, Streetspace and Ourwayoursay joined forces to offer a range of exciting opportunities to young people in and out of the parks. The playdays were increasing well attended through the summer and Future activities will be available to view on the group’s Facebook Page, www.Facebook.com/swan.wsm and also on the notice board in St Andrew’s Parade.
