"Volunteer Health Walks Training Day"

Health Walks is all about supporting and encouraging individuals from the community to improve their health (mentally and physically) through walking.

The National Walking For Health (WfH) Programme in North Somerset are currently planning the next Volunteer Health Walks Training day.

The training is a one-day course for anyone willing and able to lead walks in the community. It is a day of practical advice and is run locally in areas where there is a potential or existing "walking for health" scheme.

It includes practice in leading a walk, the importance of physical activity for health, components of a Health Walk, planning and risk assessment & the roles and responsibilities of a Health Walk Leader.

It will be taking place on Tuesday 15th January 2013 at Clevedon Town Council Offices from 10-3pm

If this sounds like something you may like to take part in, or if you know of anyone who maybe interested please get in touch with Kira Thorpe, Active Lifestyles Development Officer 01275 88 2731
